Should I or shouldn't I upgrade

Pros: A powerful web building tool

Cons: It's an expensive upgrade

Review: Elsa Wenzel suggests buying Adobe Illustrator as a useful addition. The Studio suite used to include Freehand which meant you didn't have to buy Illustrator. Now that Freehand is dead, we're forced to buy additional Adobe software.

I guess it's simpler to have one upgrade price, but as I keep up-to-date with new versions, I think I should get a discount over those who only purchased Flash 4 years ago. I don't think the Dreamweaver update is all that significant.

Macromedia continues to raise the bar

Pros: New support for alpha channels in video for flash

Cons: no revolutionary overall enhancements

Review: Macromedia Studio 8 is definitely an evolutionary step forward for the premier web design/developer, interactive video, and graphic design suite.

I would love to see integration with more popular portal solutions from Microsoft, IBM, or Plumtree.
