"Great for the price" on by dkuchta5
Pros: Cheap, resonable quality, flexible mounting, works on a Mac!
Cons: None that I can see for the price.
Summary: The other reviewer either got a bad product or didn't know how to use it. When you receive the camera, it has a small piece of clear tape over the lens to protect it. If you don't take that off, the picture will look very blurry. The camea also has a ring around the lens for manual focus. Again, the picture can be very blurry if you don't adjust the focus. Neither of these is very obvious so you could easily miss them and think the camera is blurry.
For me, the camera worked great! Its one of the few inexpensive cameras that works for both Mac & PC. I bought 2 so that my wife and I can video chat when I'm overseas. The image quality is acceptable, but not fantastic. However, if you're video chatting, you won't have the bandwidth for high res, high frame rate video anyway. Add to that the compression artifacts, and a high quality camera will end up with a low quality image anyway.
I like the semi-rigid cable as a "stand" because I can plug it in my laptop's USB port and easily aim it wherever I want. It provides reasonable quality, sharpness, and low light capability at a great price.
If I was rating it on an absolute scale, compared to other cams, I'd probably give it a 6 because it has a minimal feature set and less video quality. But the other cameras cost a lot more. I gave it a 9 because it does a good job at a great price. You can't ask for much more. -
"Very fuzzy picture." on by henrodon
Pros: Small, portable, cheap.
Cons: Very poor picture quality and the camera is at the end of a wiggly goose-neck cable that is sensitive to any slight jarring of the computer.
Summary: I'm quite disappointed and will try to return it. Even for $29 it seems a poor camera for 2008.

"Simply dreadful" on by AlecW81
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: Picture quality was sub-par, usb plug would work itself out too easily, and the "cord" wasn't stiff enough to stand on it's own.
Summary: Inexpensive? yes.
Worth the money? No. -
"Amazingly poor quality of pictures" on by tccedar
Pros: Provides a virtual glaucoma experience; it's small
Cons: Like looking thru a icecube - thus the name "Icecam"
Summary: You get what you pay for! Cheap price and quality. The worst webcam I've ever seen. The pictures/video were SO blurred even in good light. Imagine being at the bottom of a 20 foot deep pool of water, looking up without goggles, and trying to read a book on the surface - this was worse. Don't waste a penny on this thing!
