"Great camera but image can deteriorate"
Pros: Slick design; ease of use; excellent initial quality
Cons: After a few years of use image is almost completely blacked out
Summary: When I first used this camera on my Sony Vaio laptop, the image quality was sharp and worked well in all lighting conditions but is now unusable due to racing dark lines that cover most of the image surface regardless of light intensity. I have not subjected the camera to any harsh elements or physical abuse so I don't know the cause of the deterioration. All the other sony products I own have lasted forever and has never failed so I am upset that this camera failed after only 3 years. Of only 5 reviews I've read of this product there was a review from another owner who has almost identical image problems as mine so it may be a more common occurence.
