Intended for short videos, pictures, and video instant messaging, the $60 Veo Mobile Connect Web camera produces clear video and photos, but its images are somewhat pixelated when used for video messaging. It features a sensitive on-camera microphone that clearly records voice from more than three feet away. The printed quick-start guide makes setup a breeze; if you need more help, it also comes with a 44-page manual on CD. When installing the hardware with the installation CD, you have the choice of installing only the hardware drivers or all the utilities, including Creative Studio, a comprehensive package of software for creating and editing pictures, videos, games, e-cards, and other accessories. The Mobile Connect attaches to the top of a laptop via a spring-loaded clip, and you can easily adjust the camera's direction vertically, but you can't swivel it from side to side. The Mobile Connect's sturdy aluminum carrying case will fit easily in a pocket while you're on the road, but you'll need another pocket for the USB cord--the case fits the camera only.

very poor camera

Pros: while when it operated it small and convenient liked the carry case

Cons: clip inadequate. won't stay clipped to my IBM Thinkpad

Review: I was originally very pleased with this camera. I used it a few times on and off. Then one day while in use the camera just died. and now will no longer be recognized on any machine. Since it had ponly been used about a dozen times over several months I feel this track record is abysmal.

Great mini-cam, despite the naysayers

Pros: Small and stylish, it clips on the top of a laptop - I've used a cup to hold the cam! The case is great but it doesn't hold the cable, which you might forget. Like all webcams, you need good LIGHTING for the video to look good. A small desklamp fixes this

Cons: Good only as a webcam - still pictures look distorted, even with sufficient lighting. The case is an conversation opener, but it doesn't hold the cable. Cannot use the camera horizontally and the cable is short - this is a laptop camera and PC users need

Works great! So easy to set up!

Pros: Easy setup, good quality video, fast frame rates. The camera was really easy to set up. I had it up and running in less than 5 minutes. The video quality was pretty good with fluid motion. I use the camera when traveling quite often.

Cons: The carrying case should have room for the USB cable. It's easy to forget to bring along the included USB cable when traveling. Blue LED is a little too bright. Can't use the camera on a desktop either since the USB cable plugs in from the bottom of the c

Cons: Image quality is poor and slow to react
