Pros When it worked it was perfect. I was always sweating after each session.
Cons When it stopped responding it defeated the purpose of the system. it actually became a hindrance. To have a your heart rate up only to have come crashing down you can't get receiver & transmitter to function right was very disappointing.
Summary Over all, it was a good core product that was brought down by poor technology usage. Since the heart rate monitor worked flawlessly, the left arm receiver worked by default. The right side arm & leg transmitters, since they were Independent, were very problematic to say the least. Ans as I stated in my review, the right arm transmitter stopped working. If you were thinking of purchasing this product, don't.
Pros Fun exercises, good instruction, made me sweat (in a good way). I like the heart monitor.
Cons slow between exercises made it frustrating along with the system not reading my movements, especially on lateral upper body work. Too much jumping and running for my joints, even though I was able to walk instead, it still didn't read my movements well.
Summary I'm shopping for a new exercise program that doesn't make me wait 30 seconds or more between each exercise, has less jumping, and credits me for the work I do.
Pros lots of variety in workouts. Very challenging and engaging. Tracking system is great.
Cons after a few weeks some leg movements were not detected. A few days later the leg transmitter no longer connects and the next day the arm/heartrate transmitter stopped too. Warranty is only 90 days and you have to ship back to EA Sports.
Summary Reliability in question? I am curious to see how many more report breakdowns.

Pros lots of different exercises to choose from. you can customize your own workout.
Cons controls don't register when you do some of the strength moves. especially lunges and rows.
Summary i like that i can make my own program, because the ones they include don't really have as much cardio as i would like. when the controllers don't register that i'm doing an exercise properly it is really really annoying, but i figured out how to skip it, so that kinda helped a little. the resistance band is a piece of crap, so i will just use a regular one. i definitly worked up a sweat and it was pretty fun.
Pros It's easy enough and fun enough to keep me interested. I also like how it switches to other tasks before you get bored. Plus, after having back surgery, I have to be careful what I do and I can perform all the tasks without any pain in my back.
Cons The stretchy band isn't resistant enough and occasionally, the controllers have trouble reading your movements correctly. You have to hold them exactly right to get a good read.
Summary Like I said, I had an L5-S1 fusion done in July '08 and I have to be mindful of my back when exercising. This game doesn't bother my back one bit. I do work up a sweat and my muscles feel the burn, but there isn't much soreness afterwards. With my surgery, I gained 30 lbs and have recently lost 28. I'm having trouble knocking off the last 10 lbs I want to lose so I thought I'd give this a try. After one week, I'm down 3 lbs and I'm still very motivated. I actually enjoy doing the exercises and look forward to completing my 30 day challenge. The first day, I started on the low setting but the second day, I upped it to the medium one. I'm now doing the hardest one and I still like it...lol. It really is fun. My seven year old son watches me and is fascinated. The band doesn't fit around his tiny little leg, but he stands beside me and completes the exercises with me.
I hate running. Hate it. But with this, it has you run for short intervals and then you are on to something else, then back to running. In one short week, the running part has gotten much easier and I feel I could go for longer spurts than the game allows and I'm actually starting to not hate it. I haven't reached the point where I enjoy it yet, but I see the appeal now. Also, as a stressed mother of three boys (two of which are teenagers), I find the kickboxing tasks to be beneficial. I get to take out some frustration in that arena and I've noticed that I'm in a better mood after my workouts. Always a plus.
The best part is that I can do this in my own home, without an audience at the gym. I do use a different resistance band because the one that comes with the game doesn't quite do it for me. Other than that, I'm completely satisfied and plan to keep it up even after I reach my goal weight. I've even got my husband doing the 30 day challenge now.
