"WOW... Stick with XP!"

1.5 stars  | on by Gohawk09

Pros

Aero looks good, good price, safer than XP(still not safe)

Cons

SLOW, my games no longer work.

Summary

What can I say besides "WOW"? Wow, Vista runs much slower that XP. Wow, my games don't work on Vista. I installed Windows Vista on my new Apple MacBook. It has a Core2Duo @ 2.16 with 2 gigs of ram. I used Boot Camp to partition and install Windows. ... Read full review

My first impression was that Vista installs much faster that XP does. But after I booted up for the first time it took forever to load. When I got to my desktop I was greeted with a welcome screen and a security alert message that said I didn't have an anti-virus installed and my computer was at risk. I latter found that a lot of what you hear in those "Get A Mac" ads is true. Specifically the "Cancel of Allow" thing. There are also a lot of similarities between Vista and Mac OS X Tiger(Beside the fact that they are both OSs), but I won't comment on that right now. Even though my review is negative, I still have hope that Microsoft will fix all of Vista shortcomings in SP1. Until then, I'll stick with the best OS out there, Mac OS X Tiger.

"This was a great upgrade but a few problems."

4.5 stars  | on by spacejimmy

Pros

Vista has some great features, a new look (enhanced by the aero interface, and cleaner design.

Cons

The only major problem i have had with windows vista was after a while when i wanted to log out or put the computer to sleep a blank blue screen would show up. i deleted C:/C:\Windows/minidump to fix.

Summary

I think that vista is a great operating system to use but once installed make sure that all the correct drivers are installed and if you see a blue screen try deleting C:/windows/minidump to fix the blue screens.

"Not compatable"

1.5 stars  | on by robertsbon

Pros

Security features appear good.

Cons

All but the security.

Summary

Is not compatable with my laptop Alps pad.
Is not compatable with either of my Lexmark printers.
Will not allow Dell computer scan to function.
Given its high level of security function ( questions any move you make ), more appropriate name would be "Windows Parranoia".
One more compatability issue...ME!!
