    Pros: Multimedia Compatability

Cons: Cannot be added to a Domain

Summary: We had a salesman buy a new laptop for business. MCE was the operating system. First of all MCE cannot be added to a domain; so it could not be used on our network. Second, you cannot upgrade it to XP Pro because MCE is considered to be more advanced. Basically, this leaves you with a 6 hour process in which you must reformat the main drive, do a complete install of XP Pro, locate and install missing drivers and finally reload all your applications. In our case the network drivers were missing, so we had to download the missing drivers on another workstation, burn to CD and transfer to the new laptop. MCE is definitely not acceptable as a business operating system.
