Pros: will have catchy TV ads
Cons: delayed, rehashed win xp, recommended 4+ghz dual core cpu, 2 gigs ram, 1 terrabyte memory, high end video! Clearly 2 generations behind apple in OS development, most likely release date of 2007
Summary: I'm a long time windows user. I use XP usually 10hrs a day 7 days a week. I had high hopes that Vista would be something worth waiting for, but I was dead wrong. It is a horrible attempt to emulate MacOSX resulting in quite possible the most bloated piece of software in the history of software. Yup, early specs suggest you will need over 4ghz dualcore cpu, 2gigs ram, high end video, and a terrabyte of disk. Ludicris. This week my XP began crashing randomly and having issues again. I usually have to do a big rebuild every 6-8 months just to keep XP happy, well forget it. As of last week after seeing what MS had on offer for the future, I switched to OSX Tiger and I have to say it is light years beyond anything Microsoft can play catch up to. You have two choices (1) a bloated copycat OS trying to emulate another OS (2) an OS that sets the benchmark. I am very pleased that I never have to use another Microsoft OS as long as I live. Vista is a mindblowing disaster for Microsoft, I do not see how they are going to recover from this.
