"Give it a chance! So far it looks good"
on by LiQuiD_FuSioNPros Nice update from the XP, nice firefox-like Internet Explorer 7
Cons Nothing ground breaking
Summary After watching the first 2 videos for the upcoming Vista, I can say it looks promising.
And it looks to me that IE 7 is stealing some of Firefox's ideas with the "tabs" thing. So, there's nothing new being brought to the table in terms of browser capabilities or any other major upgrades.
Nevertheless, it's a good update while I won't be needing it anytime soon, it's just nice to know it's finally being a reality. -
"Amazing Improvement over previous versions"
on by 9sourgrapesPros Leaps and bounds improvement over XP
Cons Some of the new technologies are not being used
Summary I heard that some of the technologies like WinFS and others are not being implemented yet in the OS to be released in a year for deadline reasons. I would love to get my hands on those as well. I also wish there were fewer editions (7) of Vista coming out. People are confused about version numbers and names as it is. Very few will bother trying to find out the differences between all the versions. But other than that, Vista is a great upgrade over XP.

"Microsoft is continuing to impress with its innovative OS, Windows Vista."
on by paulfromgreyhatsPros Many new features, security improvements, etc
Cons Still just a beta build, some may find Vista to be slow due to its graphical interface
Summary The first beta release of Vista was pretty good, although it didn't compare to other commercial OS's as of yet. However, Vista build 5231 is starting to show promise as the next stable, innovative operating system from Microsoft. Setting aside its new features and improved security, even its stability is second to none.
The reason I rated 9/10 is because I am leaving the perfect score for the final build, provided that Vista continues in the same direction.
