Pros: Eventually did what it said

Cons: Customer support and instructions not very helpful

Summary: Bought this to extend wireless network.
Instructions with the device are not clear. You have to disable network security before you even take the unit out the box. With network security disabled then the auto set-up as a repeater does work. Press the button on the back for 10 secs and hold unit right next to your router and it does lock on.
Unpower unit and move it to where the normal network range is getting weak. I used Network Stumbler on a laptop to survey the signal strength.
When located power up unit and then what the instructions DON'T tell you- press the auto set-up button again for 10 secs to boot it into finding your network.
Once it finds the network then you can set the security.
Open a browser (I use IE 7), type in the addy 192.168.2.254 to navigate to the extender, choose 'security' and then enter your security settings exactly as your router. Click 'Apply changes' and wait until unit sorts itself out (seems several minutes).
Then re-apply security settings to your router.
If I had known that at the outset it would have taken maybe an hour rather than almost 2 days to set up.
However, once set it seems to be working fine- signal boosted by 200% at far end of house.
