"Works great after disabling MS WZC" on
Pros: Connection drops resolved by disabling the piece of junk Microsoft "Wireless Zero Configuration" service in Win-DOHS XP. Throughput is good. The connection/signal strength is excellent throughout my whole house with the standard antennas. Price is good
Cons: Connection speed seems to fluctuate a lot for no reason, even when I'm sitting within 25 feet of the unit and the signal strength says "Excellent".

"No problems - Great performance" on by rdavenpo
Pros: Smooth setup, performance
Cons: Cost, ugly case
Summary: I was previously using a NetGear WGR614 as a WAP - It died after about a year and a half of use. With the WAP54G (V3), my laptop backs up to my desktop in about 1/3 of the time. No dropped connections. No complaints about the setup tools, but I am by no means a networking newbie.

"OK for home but not business - too unreliable with wireless "G" devices." on by nicksgsr
Pros: Quick set up. Inexpensive.
Cons: Drops connections, problems with Dell hand helds and laptops. Not much distance - within 30 ft. performance OK - after that drops rapidly..
Summary: I have 16 of these in a multi location business enviornment and now I have to buy more access points/bridges because coverage has become spotty and inconsistent in most locations. Worked great when first put in, but after 18 months not as reliable coverage as I first had. Signal reliability with new Dell hand helds and laptops inconsistent(Dell & HP "G" devices primarily the ones with problems - the old 802 "B" devices seem solid out to 100 ft.) OK for home use but comes up short in business use unless you're in line of sight to and close in to the AP.

"Unreliable and problem prone. Support stinks. Do not waste your money on a Linksys." on by nicksgsr
Pros: Inexpensive.
Cons: Unreliable, reverts to previous configuration, changes ID on its own. Unstable.
Summary: I have a failure rate exceeding 30% after one year of use. Could not get an RMA approved on the last three units. Have decided to phase out all Linksys WAPs & wireless NIC's either upon failure or reported problems. They are cheap but still not worth the money because of user frustration, failure rate, and poor support. Buy something else.

"Compability problems!!!" on
Pros: Famous brand name. Some people like the blueish casing.
Cons: This product has compability issues with many Wireless adapters. And Linksys products are more expensive than most WiFi products on the market and offer the average features.
