"Boingo is a total fraud and she be closed by the FBI" on by mwphnh
Pros: Nothing - they are total frauds.
Cons: The company's business model is simply get your credit card number; charge you every month thereafter; and hope that you fail to notice.
Summary: My wife signed up for BOINGO wireless for 1 day (or so she thought) at EWR. She has been charged $21.95 a month every month since then evenb though we have never used it since that one time. As my wife charges literally hundreds of items each month on her card she never noticed the charge. I went over her charges carefully today as we were in europe and wanted to make sure everything was right - hotels; etc. I asked her about this charge as i never heard of them. She didn't either. When I called the company; with American Express on the phone; they were totally unhelpful and belligerent - saying we are responsible as if we paid for a gym and never went to it. I said we never signed up for more than the one day and the company fraudulently charged me for 3 years! They did cancel my account but refused to reimburse me for anything more than the past few months. AVOID BOINGO as their whole business model is based upon duping customers and committing fraud! Moreover BOIGO promised to send me whatever internet trails allegedly indicated my wifes agreement to this contract but they have failed to do so...probably because it does not exist.
