    "Worst service" on by saiprasadk

    Pros: Theoretically you have internet connections from thousands of locations, well....if you can get it to work or if you can get in touch with the customer support. I never got it to work and lost one month of service charges for nothing.

    Cons: Cant comment on features since it never worked. This is one of the worst services I came across in my life for a commercial product. It's almost impossible to reach them!

    Summary: I subscribed to this service online, but was never able to connect to any boingo network. I kept getting error msgs - wrong id or passwd. The boingo software that I used kept referring to their online site to reset my password. And I was able to login to their site but was never able to reset my password. It also resulted in "not able to reset your password" messages. So the only option was to call their support number.

    And I could never reach customer support on the provided 800 number. Took forever without success.

    I was attracted to buy this because of the flexibility it was going to provide, but then if it's really this hard to get in touch with their support people and their back-end systems do not compensate for that, then imagine yourself in a remote location without internet connection. You can't get to them on phone and you have to go back to a location with network access to send an email to their support hoping they would respond.

    I just wanted to update on what happened after my repeated attempts to get my problem resolved. Finally I got in touch with the customer rep and he had no clue what so ever. There were two issues. 1) The login was rejecting my user id/password. 2) I was getting the following error on Boingo site when tried resetting my password (error: Unable to save because event tracking communications cannot be established).

    And the tech support guy could do nothing to get this resolved. All he could say was - there must be some problem with the location!! Well, I tried from different locations.
    And if they don't know what the error was then what was the point in throwing error messages. To look good!!!
    Then he offered to escalate the issue to next level but I had to call them during regular week hours as the next level folks don't work on weekends.

    So much for 24x7 support. They don't have a clue on how to resolve their own technical errors. It's outright incompetent and frustrating.
