Battlefield 2: Modern Combat user reviews (Xbox 360)

Pros Best online community, realism (for its release date) and strategy (still to be matched.) The campaign was great as well. The online play has been and will ever will be the greatest first person shooter I have ever played.

Cons The only con I ever encountered in my 6 years of playing was EA server stability. Anyone who played knows what I am talking about.

Summary Simply put: since its release onto the Xbox live platform and until April 15, 2010, this game was tremendously under-appreciated. The community of die-hard players in it's last year of its online existence reminded me of what online first person shooter could do. No matter where you were from or what people said, us Battlefield 2 elites and OGs know what's up. This game, through it's suffering in server stability, maintenance and other problems, still had us coming back for more! From tank battles, sniping, strategic objectives or just solo killing, this online experience was the best I have ever encountered. In the mainstream of online gamers, BF2 simply would not compare to any Halo game, but I counter to say it could have, if it were given the chance. Halo 2 was absolutely revolutionary, but lacked construction for those who prefer a tactical FPS. We could tell when someone was a Halo or a Call of Duty player when they ran around shooting wildly and accomplishing nothing before they were killed several times, screamed their heads off in the mic and left the game. Battlefield was for those who played for a war simulated... MODERN COMBAT. That's what we wanted, that's what we got ...had...

Bottom-line...
This game deserved a much bigger pedestal in the Xbox community. In the PC realm, this game will always be among the elite of FPS.

On a personal note...
It's been an experience playing with yall, from the release to to the end. Anyone who was there to the end with me, it's been fun and thanks for making this game the excellence it was.

Pros simple and easy to play

Cons EA severs are all tied up with their new releases and don't have enough space for the old games. Can't get online with xbox and when i can the server constantly looses connection

Summary Don't plan on enjoying your EA game for more than a cpl years before its server space is cut back and you no longer can play without interruption

Pros MP is great,addicing ....well balanced

Summary Had this game since it's release and i still play it at least once a week.The Single player is extremely weak,the Multiplayer is very well done and addictingly fun.
If this game is any sign of whats to come the next one will win the title of best MP shooter ever.
Nice array of tanks,hummers,boats and choppers.And a diverse,effective choice of player types make this game a dream for players who understand teamwork.
A little more polish and BF2MC would have won hands down.
The only cons are vehicles and tanks stop dead on barrels and fence posts....pretty goofy and the handling leaves alot to be desired.you get used to it though.

Summary The game play is very life like. I have beaten the game which takes awhile, there are two endings depending if you’re the Americans or Chinese. The ranking system is a lot better then Halo 2. You have almost the entire ranking structure of the U.S. Army with the exception of 2 Warrant Officers ranks. I can't stop playing online; it's so addicting on my next mission I set for myself, whether to take over a flag, take out a sniper, or take out the helicopter. The graphics and details on the 360 are excellent. I recommend this game to anyone that likes a first person shooter.
