"An imperfect yet rediculously fun zombie romp."
on by NickyJameslssPros Super addictive.
Its Fallout with Zombies
Awesome skill trees that add to the addictiveness of the game.
Gore. Lots of gore.
Beautiful land scapes.
Very well thought out.
The objective system in place in this game makes it idiotproof.Cons Textures seem to load late on a semi-frequent basis.
Inventory management can be a bit clunky in the beginning.
The menu UI could be a bit more responsive.Summary Though its not perfect, Dead Island offers up a perfect mix of Left 4 Dead, Dead Rising and Fallout in a well made game. The level-up system is fun and keeps you playing. The multiplayer adds loads of fun to the mix when you and 3 of your closest friends can stomp a zombie into oblivion or go on a zombie-killing rampage in a pick up truck. There's a whole huge island to explore and tons of things to do and collect during your stay.
On the other hand the game has some issues with textures loading and colors rendering that can take you out of the experience. But this game doesn't try to take itself too seriously. Its less Resident Evil and more Dawn of The Dead. More than one occasion, though, I died because I was trying to switch weapons while a zombie snuck up on me and back-handed me to death. That wasn't fun. But the game is very forgiving. Starting you right away at nearly the exact point where you perished.
The game makes you feel like a bona fide badass throughout and after having spent 9 hours tonight playing it. I'm jazzed to get up in a few hours and go again! I would rate the game (thus far) an 8.75/10.
