"The promise of HD gaming finally realized"
Pros: Awesome graphics and lighting; intense fighting
Cons: Even the easiest level kicks my ass; now I need a 71 in. HDTV
Summary: Not that I was dissapointed with the Xbox 360 launch titles, but I was hoping for more in the graphics deapartment given all the early hype. Typically, game console companies (ESPECIALLY SONY) blow out a lot of hot air about the capabilities of their new gen consoles. This has made me take the hype with a grain of salt and lower my expectations. However, now that GOW has been released, I can say that the early hype about the XBOX 360 capabilities has been fullfilled. Take a look at this game on a HDTV, and it becomes evident that you no longer need to go with a high end, $7000 PC gaming rig to get a superior gaming experience. Although I am typically not a big fan of Microsoft products (I hope and expect that the ZUNE will bomb), I have to give them kudos on finally delivering on the promise of true HD gaming on a console that rivals or exceeds that on a high end PC. Now where is the Sony President who stated at E3, qoute "..high def gaming has not arrived until we say it has..." He needs to pull his head out of his ass and play GOW on an XBox 360.

Although I agree with you that GoW is great, in NO WAY does it even begin to APPROACH the graphics on a "high end $7000 PC." GoW may blow you out of the water, but that's because you haven't experienced such titles on the PC, with ultra-high resolution textures and boatloads more memory to do things with.
