"Good But Not Complete" on by thanerdat11
Pros: - Story has a different structure and keeps the player interested.
- Weapons are easier to use and more effective than previous installments.
- Visor mode a good addition. Much more effective than standard night-vision.Cons: - Campaign too short and very anticlimactic.
- Weapon selection limited
- Long periods without action in "Rookie" story
- The missing radar takes the length of the game to get used to.
- Little to no interaction with team members.Summary: Before playing this game, it's important to remember that this game was created as filler between the feature 'Halo' installments. The animation in just okay and the story is over just when you are getting into it. There are both long periods without action, as well as periods with enough to make you thankful for the next 'Checkpoint'.
The lack of variety in weaponry makes it difficult to get settled on a favourite and scarce ammunition leaves you picking off the bodies. However, the M6 pistol and the M7S SMG are both very easy to use and effective. Both very nice additions to the UNSC arsenal (on XBOX 360) and hopefully to be seen again.
Players may also notice that health packs are difficult to find in the "Rookie" story, however, this encourages smart decision-making involving constant movement and coverage.
Overall, enjoyable for as long as it lasts, as are most good things in life. -
"Get on clearance or rent not worth owning" on by whattodo1989
Pros: New halo, kinda, good story sequence
Cons: weapons, main character or lack there of...enemies, fire fight is for a select few really
Summary: Its rather depressing that this game has HALO on it... especially for as much as $60... would have been good $15-$20 DLC, the main character doesnt do anything... he past out and is fallowing and figuring out what happened to the real troops that are a few hours ahead of him... yup thats right your guy has minimal actual fight time but as he finds clues to what the real troops did you get to fight in sections as those other characters...
Basically your guy didn't really do anything at all till the very end he just runs around an empty city fighting an a few small skirmishes but nothing difficult... throwing grenades seems to solve every situation he comes into contact with...
Good rent i suppose but that's all the online is the same as halo 3 lol... like stated before its a rent that should be a $15 DLC. -

"Not a bad prequel to Halo 3" on by reallyme07
Pros: Firefight and Mulitplayer is awesome! 4-Player Co-op Campain makes it bearable.

"Not a must-have, but a nice add-on" on by Ptto911
Pros: New "Firefight" mode allows for co-operative multiplayer play, Halo 3 multiplayer disc with all map packs and addons + 3 new maps
Cons: Short campaign
Summary: While it may not impress veteran Halo players, Halo 3: ODST gives more insight of the story of Halo 3, and brings a new arsenal of weapons and features to the campaign, such as the new co-operative mode "Firefight" where you can kill enemies and build your score.
ODST also comes with a Halo 3 multiplayer disc that includes every map released for Halo 3, plus 3 new maps. The disc has the options; Matchmaking (online play), Custom Games (online or offline play with maps and gametypes of your choice), Forge(online or offline object editor that gives you the ability to create your own map), and Theater (online or offline play of films of Halo 3 gameplay).
Overall, Halo 3: ODST is a great addon for your game collection, but don't expect an entire new Halo game.
