Office v.X 10.1.7 released: Security refinements

Microsoft has released Office v.X 10.1.7, maintenance update to the older but still supported version of the productivity suite for Mac OS X.

According to Microsoft's release notes, this update includes the following enhancements:

"[...] addresses stability issues and vulnerabilities in Office v. X, Word X, and Excel X that could enable an attacker to overwrite the contents of your computer's memory with malicious code or cause your computer to stop responding or 'hang.'

The new release is available as a 37.5 MB standalone download.
