Cricket subscribers can purchase add-on bundles for calling nine more countries. Cricket

Cricket Wireless continues to extend the reach of its international calling options, adding nine new countries on Monday in Central and South America.

Cricket, which is AT&T 's prepaid branch, has made similar moves recently, introducing a " round trip" international roaming plan that includes unlimited calling and messaging from Canada and Mexico.

This latest move to include Latin American countries should help Cricket stand out from other prepaid carriers, which have also recently bolstered their own efforts in lowering rates for calls and texts outside of the US.

For $10 per month, customers receive either 100 or 150 minutes to call Colombia, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic. Text messaging and picture messaging is also unlimited.

A $15 option provides anywhere from 40 to 70 minutes of calling to El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Jamaica, Haiti and Nicaragua. Customers who need more talk time can add minutes as often as they want.

The international add-ons are available for Cricket's Smart ($50 per month) or Pro ($60/month) plans starting today. Both options include unlimited calls and messaging anywhere in North America as well as 5GB and 10GB of high-speed data, respectively.
