After making this global debut earlier this year the Tokyo Auto Salon Honda has chosen here at the Chicago Auto Show to give us our first look at the 2020 Honda Civic tie bar.
With this new car Honda has basically taken the ethos of if it ain't broke, don't fix it, and it's someone who's driven The last type are quite a bit.
I can tell you There wasn't much broke.
The biggest change is actually that new color, Honda calls is boost blue and it is pretty stunning, but for me I'd probably still have to go with the traditional white and red.
Up front there's a new nose with a bigger air intake to give more cooling.
They've also taken the unfortunate waffle pattern off of those big fake grills on the front.
Fortunately though Still left them on the back.
On the inside there's a new interior with a revised steering wheel and shifter wrapped in Alcantara.
But you'll have to take my word on that.
It's actually blacked out the windows and lock the doors, they don't wanna us to shoot inside for some reason.
More importantly though are the new hardware changes.
Up front there's two piece floating brake rotors squeezed by new pads.
Suspension revisions include softer dampers and stiffer bushings that promise to give you both better ride quality, but also better steering feel.
So it should be better on the track, and on the road, and that's a pretty good package.
Overall, this is already one of the greatest hot hatches on the road and with the addition of Honda Sensing, which is now standard, it should be even safer than before.
Hyundai's not saying exactly how much the new Civic Type R is gonna cost but since the old one started around $37,000, I'd be pretty surprised that this one was straying too far from that when it hits dealerships later this year.
