5 tips every Netflix user should know
[SOUND] Hey everybody and welcome to Top Five.
I'm Iyaz Akhtar and today, we're counting down the top five tips every Netflix user should know.
At number 5, have more than one profile.
Even if your Netflix subscription serves one solitary person, think about having a profile for your different moods.
I have one profile which is kinda like aspirational me.
It's got documentaries and critically acclaimed movies, highly rated.
So I get suggestions for awesome things.
Then I have another profile which rates terrible movies quite highly.
Because sometimes I like watching movies that are so bad they're good.
I like having these separated so Netflix suggestions are suited Get into my mood.
Number four, remove content from your viewing history.
Maybe your watching a lousy movie in your good profile or the other way around.
Maybe your ashamed that you watches Sharknado 3 and it's forever influencing your suggestions, you can erase those mistakes.
Go to your account on Netflix.com.
Then click Viewing Activity in the My Profile section.
Now behold your viewing history.
Hit the X on the right.
And say goodbye to that mistake.
Number three, get to know Netflixroulette.net.
Sometimes you just want to put something on your TV or phone but you're not sure what you want.
Enter netflixroulette.net.
It's a simple site that will suggest something to watch.
There are advanced options that let you narrow down what results you get back.
So, when I must inevitably watch a family friendly movie with my young son I can ask Netflix Roulette to give me children and family movies that are four to five stars.
It looks like we're watching 2012's Radio Rebel.
There's also an Android that called Flix Roulette.
[SOUND] Number two, NEnhancer, Netflix is great, but picking out something can be really difficult.
Check out NEnhancer for Google Chrome.
This extension brings some valuable information to Netflix.
You hover over a title, you'll see ratings from IMDB And the rottentomatoes.com scores from both critics and the audience.
There's even the option to watch a trailer of the title in case you don't know if you're committed yet.
Now these features don't appear on every title, but they do help.
At number 1, Know Your Genres.
You ever noticed the URL for certain genres on Netflix?
Like drama lives at netflix.com/browse/genre/5763.
5763 is Netflix's code for the genre drama.
Did you know that someone over at what.netflix.com compiled a huge list of genre codes?
You do now.
So if you wanted an easy way to find anime sci-fi Change that number 2729.
Or, if it's a crime TV shows, use the number 26146.
Here's the short link to all of those codes.
