Another Apple event in 2020! Here's everything we know

[BLANK_AUDIO] [MUSIC] New Macs debuting Apple silicon and a few more surprises just when we thought Apple's fall launch event extravaganza was drawing to an end, it hit us up with one more thing. [MUSIC] Apples next big event is officially slated for Tuesday, November 10 at 10am Pacific Time. Now, for those of you keeping track, that is number three in the last three months. So at this point we're averaging about one a month in the fall from Apple. What can we expect? Well, that was easy. They're basically making good on a promise they made back in June. So that's about 20 years ago in pandemic life. At this year's developers conference, Apple announced that it would be transitioning from Intel CPU, which have basically powered its desktops and laptops for years to its own custom made Apple chips. This means Apple basically gets complete control over the design process of its Macs. That means hardware, interior and exterior, along with its software. And for Apple, this is a good thing because as we've seen with other devices like the iPhone or the iPad, they can do a lot more if they have complete control of the process. Now this one in particular would be based off of the A14 chip found in the new iPhone 12 and iPad Air. Now if there are still any questions in your mind as to whether or not we're gonna see new Macs at this November launch event, well there's this. Apple has all ready registered a number of new Mac models with the Eurasian Economic Commission. This was discovered by French side CONSOMAC. This is a necessary precursor before launching this type of device in this market, and in the past has been a pretty reliable indicator of what Apple is cooking for its next big launch event. So now the question becomes, what Macs are they going to launch? And as of now we have three strong contenders. [MUSIC] First off, 13 inch MacBook Air, 13 inch MacBook Pro and 16 inch MacBook Pro, where Apple could really flex the processing power of its new arm based chip. Now this according to a recent Bloomberg report, which also states that we're not going to see a redesign for these new Macs, but rather they will have the same design as the current models, which is fine. But can we all agree that we need better webcams this year, please. [MUSIC] Of course there's still some time before the event, so I at least, I'm expecting more leaks up until the day of. So take this information with a grain of salt. I'm also gonna throw in there that we've been hearing some rumors about a 12 inch MacBook, a 24-inch iMac and a potential Mac Mini, but these are a little bit less likely. Apple has said it will take about two years to fully transition from Intel to ARM-based chips, during which, it will continue to sell and support Intel-based Macs and iMacs. We're also expecting Apple to make good on a few other promises that it made at earlier launch events, starting with that MagSafe Duo Charger. Think of this as the toned down version of the AirPower mat, which was supposed to charge three devices, not two anywhere on the mat. And I'm hoping it won't have the same outcome because Apple had to cancel that. And also that new Fitness+ service which Apple announced at the Apple watch event back in September, which would allow you to work out on your Apple TV, iPhone or iPad for $9.99 a month using the Apple watch as the core. We learned all about it but we still don't know when the official launch date is, so that one would make sense as well. Maybe a few other products, after all there are still a couple of other Apple products left on the 2020 Apple bingo, including the air tags, those tiny little tracking devices, the title competitors, and the air pod studio, those high end over the ear headphones that we've been hearing about. And maybe bonus like Apple AR glasses or Apple Car. Yeah, more realistically, Apple TV maybe. Again, highly doubtful. Now that we've covered what to expect, here's how to watch basically the same venues as before. You can stream it from apple.com, you can stream it from Apple's YouTube page, you can stream it on Apple TV. You can also come to Cnet YouTube page to join our watch party which will start 30 minutes before the event and then stay on to see our post event recap as well. In the meantime, I also wanna know what you guys are thinking about the November event. Are you excited about the new Macs? And what other products do you want to see from Apple before the end of 2020? That has a nice ring to it. I will see you next time. [MUSIC] [BLANK_AUDIO]
