-Hey there, I'm Josh Goldman, senior editor, with CNET; and this is a look at the Fujifilm FinePix XP20.
It's a 14-megapixel point and shoot wrapped up in a rugged body that's water, dust, shock, and freeze proof.
And really, that's the most exciting thing about this model.
It's got a wide-angle lens in front with a 5x zoom behind a strengthened glass lens cover, but like most internal zoom lens cameras,
if you're not careful, you'll end up with your fingers in your shots.
On the back is a strengthened 2.7-inch LCD, a 1-push record button for capturing 720p HD movie clips, and some other straightforward controls that make operation simple.
As for the rugged claims, it held up with my test, but the latch on the door protecting the battery, SD card slot, and USB port
are not as secure as other rugged cameras I've tested.
Shooting modes are basic point and shoot fare, thought there are 3 underwater specific scene modes.
Photo quality is okay given its price, but I wouldn't recommend it as a primary camera because of its poor low light photos and sluggish shooting performance.
If you just need a secondary pocket camera for shooting in good light that you can be a little rough with, it's alright.
