>> Dan Ackerman: Hey I'm Dan Ackerman and we are here take a look at HPs new Netbook Mini 210 which of course is a sequel to the Mini 110 that a lot of people were buying last year. The 210 brings in some stuff from some other HP laptop that we like. It's got that kind of widely spaced island keyboard that it picked up from the Mini 5101 and 5102 but those are the business versions of HPs Netbooks that we like and it's got a touch pad that's very reminiscent of the touch pads we found on HPs Envy series and what that does is it takes a left and right mouse buttons and actually incorporates them into the touchpad itself almost like you'd find on a Macbook and it has some of those Macbook like multi-touch gestures as well which actually work a lot better than you think they would on a tiny touch pad like this. Now HPs Netbooks are among the more flexible netbooks you can get. You can change the hard drive size. You can change the screen resolution. This is an HD version that's got a 1366x768 screen resolution. It's also got kind of cool edge to edge glass of the screen which gives it a nice slick look. You are however stuck with that Intel Atom N450 CPU and a single gig of ram. You can however go between Windows 7 starter and Windows XP. Now of course the big star here is this Broadcom Crystal HD video accelerator. We've seen that on some other netbooks like a Dell Mini 10 which will basically take HD video and help the wimpy netbook hardware play it. Works great for you know WV files you've got on your desktop. For streaming video you're gonna have to download the latest flash beta player, 10.1 beta 3 is the current version that works with this hardware and for your streaming HD video you know it works better than your average netbook will, it's certainly watchable, it's not a super HD experience yet but hopefully different driver software updates will get all of that smoothed out. The nice thing about the HP mini 210 is that it's so flexible it starts at like 299 which is rock bottom for a netbook and you still get kind of this cool design and even with the HD screen and the HD video accelerator this thing was still under 399 making it a pretty good overall deal in terms of multimedia netbooks.
