LG Shine II (AT&T)

>> I'm Kent German here at cnet.com. Today I'll take a First Look at the LG Shine II. This is a new phone for AT&T. It doesn't look a whole lot different from that second Shine, that was the first one that AT&T carried. Of course it is a little shiny as the name implies, it's silver, has a nice metal back, metal sides. It also has a nice weighty feel on the hands. The display is quite nice; it could have been a tiny bit bigger but it is bright and colorful, the menu system is easy to understand; LG usually does a good job with that. The navigation controls, you'll see those here. The OK button in the middle is rectangular, very easy to use; it's raised above the surface of the phone so you can find it by feel. This entire area is a navigation toggle. I found it just a little stiff to use especially moving in the down direction. I just felt that it didn't always know that I was actually pressing it and having either a really firm press so it's one thing I wasn't crazy about is just that navigation toggle. The keypad buttons are flush as you could expect on the slider. You'll see Talk and End buttons and a Clear. The numbers are pretty big, also there's a bright backlighting. We could dial and text okay. It took us just a minute or so to get used to it but overall it wasn't too bad. The phone has a pretty decent selection of features. You'll find a megapixel camera; you have AT&T music; there's AT&T Navigator; Bluetooth speaker phone; organizer options and messaging so pretty mid range feature set but not a lot to say about this phone really; and it's designer features I mean it's all fine but this doesn't' really offer anything we really haven't seen before. I'm Kent German and this is the LG Shine II.
