Strava data raises concerns over military secrets, Samsung Galaxy S9 leaks

The Washington Post reported Sunday that a global heatmap from fitness tracking company Strava could reveal sensitive data about US military operations. The map, published last November, shows historical activities from people using the Strava app. But Australian student, Nathan Ruser, tweeted that US military bases are clearly identifiable in the images. In a statement to the post, Strava said the heatmap represents an anonymized view of over a billion activities but excludes activities marked as private. The Department of Defense says it is reviewing the situation to determine whether further policy is needed to ensure the safety of personnel.
