The only weapon you may need during an assault is the size of a credit card.
The Aluma Connect personal safety device may soon become the must have phone accessory in college campuses.
The actual device is only eight millimeters thick and doesn't weigh your phone down.
It attaches to the back of the phone with a sticky material.
And carries via bluetooth to the phone.
There are two ways of activating the SOS feature.
Just press the button on the back for a silent alarm, if you wanna do it discretely or pull the wristband to sound the 135 [UNKNOWN] alarm and strobe light if you're out on a jog or walking alone at night.
The sound of the alarm alone may be enough to deter an attacker.
If not, the phone immediately bypasses your lock screen to alert you social safety list that you're in trouble.
The list includes any emergency contacts that you may have designed on the app previously.
When this happens, it begins a group text between all of your contacts with your exact coordinates.
When someone in the chat responds with help or calls 911, the rest will be notified.
You can also call 911 yourself with the press of a button, or you can stop the alert with just press of the screen when you're safe.
The Aluma will launch in spring of this year for around $100, plus $2 to $5 a month for access to their app network compatible with iOS and Android.
